Metroid Other M is coming out on August 31, 2010 for North America, originally June 30, 2010. Personally, I'd love to play the game, as it retells the story of Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, The gap between the two games, and the story between Samus Aran and Adam Malkovich. Super Metroid is right after Metroid 2: Return of Samus, as Samus gives the metroid larva to the scientists at Ceres Space Station. Then as Samus leaves the station, Ridley steals the metroid larva as it is the last original metroid in the universe. Samus follows Ridley to Zebes, and fights him again as the second to last main boss in the game. After the battle, Samus finds the metroid larva's capsule, but broken in half. Samus later finds the metroid in Tourian, but huge as a result to exposure of beta rays. the metroid drains Samus's health all the way to the last energy tank, but then realises Samus to be its "mother". The metroid is last seen transferring Mother brain's energy and giving it to Samus. Then mother brain kills the metroid. Enraged, Samus kills Mother brain using the hyper beam.
In Metroid Fusion, Samus loses her power suit to the x parasite. Samus then explores the B.S.L. Station, recovering items as she goes and meets the SA-X numerous times. At the end of the game, after the destruction of the Metroid Breeding Program, and the fight with the SA-X, you have to fight an omega metroid, but obviously, Samus almost dies. Then the SA-X comes and almost dies too. Samus can then absorb the SA-X and kill the omega metroid. So that's Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. Come back tomorrow for the next blog.
